Chess Tournament Opportunity! (Next weekend!)

Students from age 6-18 are invited, and need only know the basics of playing chess.

Registration closes this weekend, and the tournament is Saturday, January 28th.  Mrs. Baker will be there to supervise any of our students who are dropped off, and they are asked to wear MMH school colours.  It runs from 1:00-6:00 pm, so they will need to bring a water bottle and some food.

It is free to order the online ticket, and students will need to have the $10 entry fee in cash when they arrive.

This is a public event, and not just an MMH event.  Anyone interested in this event can sign up and pay directly.  It is a fun opportunity to learn more about Chess and to have fun playing it!

Happy New Year and welcome to 2017!
We had a fabulous first day back from our holiday.
We have a new student in our class today!  A big welcome to Royce!  All the students were excited to welcome Royce to our 2A classroom.  We now have 12 girls and 13 boys.  A total of 25 students!

Just a few reminders:

Books are due back on Wednesday.  Students will take out new books on Thursdays.  Students may take out 2 books each week.  They must be returned the following week so that they can take out new books.  If the books are not returned, students will be permitted to look at books, but they may not borrow new books.

Please label ALL outdoor gear (coats, hats, mitts, boots, scarves, etc.  Please also label water bottles and any other items that students may bring to school.  Every day there are a large number of items left behind in the classroom.  I don't always know who items belong to, and in  many circumstances, students are actually not able to identify their own items! (It seems unlikely but it's true!)  I have placed a clear tote outside our classroom so that parents can view the items too.

If it is very cold outside, we will have indoor recesses.  Please send children to school with adequate clothing so that they can be prepared to go outside.

At MMH, we are looking forward with hope and positivity to an awesome 2017 for you and your families!  If you have any questions at all, or if you wish to get in touch with me, please email me at robyn.lilley@lethsd.ab.ca, or if we are connected on class dojo, feel free to message me on there.
